Name: relative humidity
Acronym:
Description: the amount of water vapor contained in air or other media measured relative to the maximum amount of water that could be stored in the media in form of water vapor at that temperature. Normally measured in percent. For air, the maximum amount of water that can be contained as water vapor depends on temperature. Relative humidity is an important environmental parameter for pollen and spore release. There is often a negative correlation between relative humidity and airborne pollen concentration. Both positive and negative correlations are found for airborne spore concentrations depending on the type of spore
